Permit notes

Inner Line Permit Arunachal

How Inner Line Permits work for Arunachal travel from Guwahati: who needs ILP, when to apply, and how Leafyinn times the Tawang cab.

Indian citizens need an Inner Line Permit to enter Arunachal Pradesh. Foreign nationals generally need a Protected Area Permit. Leafyinn will not put you in a Tezpur-to-Tawang taxi without a plan for the paper.

Apply before you travel. Online portals and designated offices change rules; we brief the current path on the inquiry rather than freeze a 2024 screenshot in this article. Carry printed copies and ID at Bhalukpong.

Meghalaya and Assam (except some notified belts) are a different story. A Kaziranga-plus-Shillong trip usually does not need an ILP. Adding Tawang does.

Permits have validity windows. We align homestay dates and the Sela crossing to those dates. A permit that expires on the pass day is how trips stall.

Common questions

Can the driver get my ILP at the gate?

Do not rely on that. Apply in advance. The check post is not a tourist helpdesk.

Does Leafyinn process permits?

We guide the process and time the trip around it. You remain responsible for accurate ID details on the application.

Is ILP needed for Meghalaya?

Generally no for Indian travellers on the usual Shillong–Sohra circuit. Arunachal is the permit-heavy state on our desk.
