A 7-day Northeast India itinerary from Guwahati should do one region well. Leafyinn’s default is Meghalaya with an optional Kaziranga night — not seven states in seven days.
Days 1–2: land GAU, cab to Shillong, recover, Umiam if you arrive early. Days 3–5: Sohra for waterfalls and, if you are fit, the Nongriat walk; Dawki only if the river season agrees. Day 6: return toward Guwahati or swing to Kaziranga if safari timing works. Day 7: buffer and fly.
Arunachal and Tawang do not fit this week unless you skip Meghalaya entirely. Sela is not a side quest. We will refuse a 7-day “Seven Sisters grand tour” that exists only on paper.
The cab is the spine. One private vehicle from airport to Sohra and back beats three shared taxis and a missed lodge. Homestays are chosen for those nights, not from a national hotel grid.
Common questions
Can I see Meghalaya and Tawang in 7 days?
Not as a sane trip. Pick Meghalaya or Arunachal. Mixing both burns the week on highways.
Where does Kaziranga fit?
As a 1–2 night add-on if you land early or fly late. It needs its own safari morning — see our safari timing guide.
Is this a fixed group tour?
No. Leafyinn builds a private plan: stays, cab, and a package inquiry. Group tours are a separate catalog when they exist.
